Tips When Buying a New TV.
There are so many modifications in technology now and then which lead to the introduction of new models of televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, mobile phones and so on. The most common thing most people wonder these days is ‘what TV should I buy?’ This question does not arise because one wants to get rid of the old TV or it is not working and a new one is required. People start asking what TV should I buy only when they have seen a good television set like the flat screen LCDS, LED or plasma sets in display at some store.
These television sets can be quite enticing and the bigger the size of the screen, the more the attraction. The biggest reason why people want to switch over to new TVs is that they feel their TVs are smaller. Hence, if you are thinking of what TV should I buy then the best is to first decide the size of the TV. Brands and features can be decided later on because the size you want will definitely be available with all the brands. Make sure you do not select too small a TV. It has been observed that no one will ever complain about having a big size TV but if it is small in size (relatively) then there will be many people who would want to quickly buy a new one.
Now buying a TV is not a very easy thing. It does involve some money. In fact if you buy a big size one, a lot of money. Hence when you think what TV should I buy, the decision should be such that you will continue using it till it stops working or has some other major concern. Television sets with new technologies will be introduced every year but you cannot keep buying a TV every time. Hence it is important that you conduct a proper research when you begin to think what TV should I buy. Other features that need to be considered are the aspect ratio. The 4:3 aspect ratios are totally outdated. The latest and best is the 16:9 aspect ratio on a new and widescreen. These television sets are much more rectangular than your old ones.
The next important aspect that most people do not think when discussing what TV should I buy is the native resolution. This is the fixed resolution for every TV. So for example if you want to buy an HD television that is 1080i in resolution, you need to check if its native resolution is around 1920pixels wide and 1080 pixels high. Only then will it be able to justify the display. These kinds of TVs are very costly these days but a few years down the line they might be the best and cost a little lesser too. So if you are looking for a long term perspective on what TV should I buy, then a good HD resolution TV will prove to be a good choice.
What TV Should I Buy?
When it comes to buying television sets, all you want is to get the best quality picture and also a wide range of features. Expectations of customers have increased over a period of years due to the new technology that is introduced so regularly these days. People keep wondering what TV should I buy since there are so many different types available. The number of features has also increased. Plasma which was a trend few seasons back was replaced by LCD and now LED TVs are the latest trend. All this definitely leaves the buyer confused as to what TV should I buy.
If you are not going to buy a TV which has the latest features, then you will definitely repent. Hence when you are thinking of what TV should I buy then it is better that you do a proper survey. There is a lot of information on the internet these days regarding the various brands available and even the feature comparison. There are even internet enabled television sets these days and you may want it in case you have a good budget and want to buy an expensive TV for a long term. This is a very important consideration when deciding what TV should I buy.
Whether it is an average spender or someone who has lots of money to buy a TV, everyone wants to buy a good quality one and does not want to compromise on the features. This is why most brands come up with TVs of different price ranges which have almost similar technology. But for the latest and high tech features, one has to spend a little extra. You need to be clear as to what is your criterion when you think what TV should I buy. Generally this year there were quite a few TVs that were introduced in different price segments for the convenience of customers.
Firstly decide a budget when deciding what TV should I buy. For people who have a restricted or modest budget but yet want to enjoy most of the features, then the Sony KDL – 32CX523 which is 32 inch in size is a good option. There are many other brands that may cost a little lesser in the same size and feature range but you may have to compromise on quality of picture or something else. The Sony TV uses the CCFL and not the LED technology. The prices may vary if you want a bigger TV.
It is best to decide what size of TV you want when contemplating on what TV should I buy. This will make your search easier. Another television in a slight higher price range is the LG 42LW550T. This TV can also be used to access your social networking sights and has every modern feature that you would want in your TV when you decide what TV should I buy. The higher the price range, the better is the quality and features. Even modest budget TVs are good options so you can definitely be satisfied with what you will receive at the low price too.
Plasma vs LCD vs LED
These 3 technologies are different in lots of ways, paricularly in how each of these screans is lit. In plasma TVs, there are self lighting phosphors that creat the image on the screen and they do not require any backlighting.
However, for LCD TVs, there is a liquid crystal screen which does not illuminate. Thus, requiring a separate light source which brings us to the difference between LCD and LED TVs/Screens. Traditional LCS TVs use cold cathode fluorescent lights to fully illuminate the screen which use a charged gas to produce that light. LED screens as its name might suggest, use light emitting diodes (LEDs) to fully illuminate the display.
You are probably wondering which is the ideal TV display to choose from between the Plasma, LCD and LEDs out there. There are several factors that would aid your decision such as ennergy efficiency, price, brightness and the size/thickness of the TV. LED comes in the best when it comes to energy efficiency and size, however, the price tag might not be the most encouraging as LED screens can cost an extra few hundred bucks over the regular LCD.

P S 3 IS COMING! What is the best television for it?
I’m looking for a 42 inch that would be a good combination with the multimedia horsepower and the armaggedon that will ensue, at a decent price. I’m not a big tv or movie watcher so any tv was just fine until now. If you’ve noticed i’m into gaming but really don’t understand the technical side of things. It’s driving me crazy. So much data from so many "experts" makes it hard tell if they’re telling the truth, trying to make a sale or are just clueless. Please, any inside info or quality personal experience will be greatly appreciated.
Why must you always keep a plasma TV vertical?
I’ve been told that laying a plasma TV on its face or back, even while it’s still in the box, will damage it.
Is this true? What happens to it?
